I was originally planning on getting a Vita day 1, along with a 32GB card.
Find out the cards are $100. Ouch. Fine, you know what? fuck it. $350 on a handheld? No big deal. Considering how much value I got out of my PSP, fine.
Dragon’s Crown, Disgaea 3, Lord of Apocalypse are all confirmed to NOT be launch titles. Spit in my fuckin’ eye. Fine, fine.. If I get a Vita, I’ll atleast get Hot Shots Golf, and in the mean time, I can play my older PSP games. I still got Phantasy Star Portable 2, that’ll keep me happy!
WRONG.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 is now confirmed to NOT be compatible. My #1 PSP game, the game I’ve been playing since it launched up to this VERY DAY, is not compatible. What the fuck.
Lets add in that sales are shit in JP right now, and it’s looking like the Vita might hit a price drop within the first 6mos.
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY 0 INCENTIVE TO BUY A VITA AT LAUNCH NOW. Thanks, Sony. Wonderful job you’re doing there with your device. When the PSP came out, I -HAD- to have it. I bought about 15 games right off the bat, and loved it. I think I played it more than my 360, quite honestly. (bold statement considering I have FO3/FONV/Oblivion/Skyrim/tons of other time eating rpgs)
So seriously, the 3 main games I was going to get it for, 2 of which I thought were launch titles, aren’t. The memory cards are fucking ridiculously expensive, and if I wait, the price will go down and someone else (sandisk) will make new ones, cheaper than sony’s. The VITA ITSELF may get a price drop within 6mos, and by then the games I want SHOULD be out. If not, I can just keep waiting.
Phantasy star portable 2 not being compatible is seriously the straw that broke the camels back for me. I was going to sell my PSP and use that money (about $80~$100) to buy a Vita.. but since my favorite game isn’t compatible, that’s $100 more I have to pay, now. BEAUTIFUL.
